Defend the Defenders: Protecting the Guardians of a Sustainable Future is intended to support targeted activists; this zine is part of Liyang Network’s effort to spread awareness to the increasing repression of activists and advocates in the Philippines in the last four years and to the dire human rights situation in the country, while providing concrete support for persecuted activists, including 9 activists facing trumped-up charges, as well as the health needs and educational assistance for dozens of political prisoners and their families.
This zine provides more information about political prisoners, individual bios of some activists, breakdowns of tools of state repression, interviews, and art pieces created in solidarity.
